Ed Taylor

Mr. Robert Edison “Ed” Taylor, 86, a resident of Luverne, Alabama, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2020.

Mr. Taylor was a dedicated worker, starting his career at Petrey Wholesale at only 15. He would spend the next 62 years working his way up the ladder to become Chief Supervisor over the warehouse. In his free time, he loved being outside, including fishing and hunting. He will be remembered by his loved ones as a wonderful father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother. He will be sorely missed by all of them.

Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou Bodiford Taylor; two daughters, Charlotte Majors and Sherry Thrash; parents, Daniel Sylvester and Claudia Rolling Taylor; and his sister, Laura Godwin. He is survived by his two sons, Kenny (Cindy) Taylor and Mike (Lisa) Taylor; eight grandchildren, Darrin (Becky) Taylor, Derek Taylor, Dusty (Peyton) Taylor, Misty (Jeremy) Powell, Sheena (Matt) Green, April (Brandon) Berry, Trey Majors, and Justin Thrash; ten great-grandchildren, Claire, Clay, Matalie, Matthew, Sawyer, Miley, Braxton, Julia, Anna Grace, and Parker; three siblings, Doris (Newton) Holmes, Helon (Mason) Williamson, and Elton (Glenda) Taylor; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Active pallbearers will be Dusty Taylor, Derek Taylor, Sawyer Taylor, Matt Greene, Jeremy Powell, and Wendell Wells.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Turners Funeral Home to help with his funeral costs.
