Mr. Eddie Sexton, 82, a lifelong resident of Honoraville, Alabama, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on Thursday, January 28, 2021. A graveside service for Mr. Sexton will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, January 31st, in Cool Springs Cemetery with Rev. Scott Sexton officiating and Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing.
Mr. Sexton was blessed with an incredible gift for working with wood. He spent many years as a custom woodcarver for Pelham Shell & Leckie Furniture Company. He also had a very successful career as an insurance agent. In his free time, Mr. Sexton loved being outdoors. He enjoyed spending many an afternoon fishing or spending time on the river or local ponds. He also had a green thumb for tending to his garden where he raised his prized vegetables.
At home, Mr. Sexton could often be found indulging in his love of music by strumming his guitar. He spent his quiet moments studying his Bible daily in order to achieve a better understanding of the Scripture. Above all, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He adored his family, and they loved him back just as much. While they mourn his passing, they rejoice that he is now secure in the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Mr. Sexton was preceded in death by his great-grandson, Hunter T. Sexton; parents, Luke & Exa Petty Sexton; and sister, Bonnie Sexton. He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn T. Sexton; three children, Jerry Randall (Phyllis) Sexton, David Allen (Lesa) Sexton, and Jeffrey W. (Tammie) Thompson; four grandchildren, Jerry Todd Sexton, Kristi Leigh (John) Golds, David Joshua (Kayla) Sexton, and Jacob Allen (Kelly) Sexton; and seven great-grandchildren, Cortney Minten, Hayden Minten, Emma Minten, Justin T. Sexton, Taylor Sexton, Luke G. Sexton, and Lexi B. Sexton.
Active pallbearers will be Stan Petty, Jeffrey Thompson, Roddy Campbell, Mickey Horne, Jerry Huckabaa, and Vernon Mason.
