Edward Robert "Bob" Kersker

KERSKER, Mr. Edward Robert, 87, a resident of Luverne, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2018. Funeral services for Mr. Kersker will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, January 27, from the Chapel of Turners Funeral Home with Rev. Travis Johnson. Interment will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mr. Kersker proudly served with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and later retired from the Army National Guard. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Katherine Scheidt Kersker, and seventeen brothers and sisters. Mr. Kersker is survived by his loving wife, Katherine Shows Kersker, four sons, Alton (Peggy) Kersker, John (Rita) Kersker, Faron (Susie) Kersker, and Robin Kersker, seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and his brother, Richard (Thelma) Kersker. Active pallbearers will be Edwin Mitchell, Jerry Hudson, Karl Eiland, Kip Smith, Donnie Bodiford, and James Colquitt. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 12:30 – 2pm.
