RAYBORN, Mr. Manning Edward, 94, a resident of Brantley, Alabama, passed away on Sunday, April 1, 2018. Funeral services for Mr. Rayborn will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, April 4, from the Chapel of Turners Funeral Home with Rev. Timothy Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Brantley Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mr. Rayborn proudly served with the United States Army during World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Virginia Inez Worrell Rayborn, three grandsons, Jonathan Manning Rayborn, Paul M. Spurlin, and Reid Davis, parents, Robert Eugene and Lessie Bell Johnson Rayborn, two sisters, Doris Driggers and Orelia Rayborn, and six brothers, Ralph, James Ira, Houston, John Robert, Sam, and Gaston Rayborn. Mr. Rayborn is survived by his four children, Marie (Frank) Spurlin, Shirley (Robert) Peek, Marvin (Carolyn) Rayborn, and Johnny (Sharon) Rayborn, seven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers will be Clark Rayborn, Bobby Peek, Carl Rayborn, Tim Rayborn, Warren Alverson, and Brett Garrard. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10 - 11 AM.
