Edward "Eddie" Walker, 66, a resident of Luverne, Alabama, passed away unexpectedly in his home on Wednesday, July 8th, 2026. A celebration of Eddie's life will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, July 18th, from the Chapel of Turners Funeral Home with Brother Stae Sanders officiating and Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday for one hour prior to the service.

Eddie was a character for the ages: famously stubborn as a mule, as cantankerous as Fred Sanford, and the type who never failed to make sure his voice was heard by any and everyone. He most definitely always lived his life entirely on his own terms, something he was certainly never going to make apologies for. And there was never a need for anyone else to apologize for his actions because the whole county simply accepted "oh, that's just Eddie." He was never the type to settle down into any one career path because he always had such a wide variety of interests. Over the years, he sold saladmaster cookware, worked as a studio photographer, and spent a lot of time on the road as a truck driver. Never one to be confined, Eddie loved the freedom of the open road, especially when riding motorcycles with his buddies. He also enjoyed attending cannon shoots with the 6th Regiment of the Clanton's Cavalry Battery. He has left this world far too soon, but few can say they lived life exactly as they wanted to while leaving behind a treasure trove of entertaining stories to ensure no one will ever forget "just Eddie."

Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Preston & Vivian Morgan Walker. He is survived by his brother & sister-in-law, Anthony "Tony" & Tammy Walker; nephews, Jessie Walker & Tony Walker; niece, Alaina (Blake) Deshazo; best friend, Larry Sasser; and numerous other extended family members and friends.
