Edwin Merwyn Butts

BUTTS, Mr. Edwin Merwyn, 72, a resident of Honoraville, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2017. A celebration of his life will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, April 15, in the Chapel of Turners Funeral Home with Rev. Hugh Sikes officiating. Interment will follow in Joquin Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mr. Butts was a proud member of the United States Air Force for 20 years and he spent 12 years with the Civil Service after his retirement. Additionally, he was a longstanding member of the Luverne Masonic Lodge 630 and faithfully attended the Rock Hill Baptist Church. Mr. Butts was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Butts, parents, Merwyn and Corrine Butts, brother, Paul Butts, and two sisters, Helen Sue Stinson and Virginia Mothershed. He is survived by his two daughters, Darlene (John) Dodd and Robin (Andy) Culpepper, three beloved granddaughters, Alex (Michael) Buffaloe, Samantha Miller, and Alison Culpepper, great-granddaughter, Hailey Brooke Buffaloe, special niece, Jennifer Hall, two stepsons, Sam (Brenda) Avant and Bernie (Missy) Sadler, and a number of step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and other loving family members. Active pallbearers will be Emmett Hall, Michael Buffaloe, Sam Avant, Waylon Sanders, Jim Bees, and Kyle Richburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 12:30 – 2pm.
