Effie Jewel Kent

KENT, Mrs. Effie Jewel, 88, a resident of Montgomery, AL died Saturday, September 13, 2014. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 in Mt. Zion Methodist Church Cemetery (The Lodge) with Rev. William Leverette officiating and Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mrs. Kent retired from civil service with over 30 years of service. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie & Effie Jane Williamson Kent; five sisters, Myrtice Brown, Mollie Barwick, Audie Parham, Cumi Sansom, and Ida McCartha; four brothers, Noel Kent, Tom Kent, Clayton Kent, and Cader Kent; and her nephew Kenneth McCartha. Mrs. Kent is survived by her niece, Peggy McCartha and nephew, Lauren Brown. The family requests that any memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. The family will receive friends at Turner Funeral Home Tuesday afternoon from 12:30 – 1:30 pm.
