Rutledge

Elizabeth Ann Jacobs Holladay, 59, a resident of Rutledge, Alabama, passed away suddenly on Thursday, October 26th, 2023. A memorial service has not been scheduled at this time.

Elizabeth was always ready to have a good time and a good time was usually going to be had when you were around her. She simply buzzed with energy, always ready to be on the go. She was also a very kind and empathetic kind of person. You could count on her for a listening ear, a shoulder to lean on, or simply a kind word to bring a smile to your face. She had her dream job when she managed the deli at the Big Little in Brantley, Alabama. Why? Because she was right in the middle of everything. She saw countless people each and every day and took the time to talk to them and get to know her regular customers. That she was popular with them all wasn't in doubt if you ever went anywhere with Elizabeth, because you could bet she was going to run into at least one person she knew that she had to catch up with. Obviously, she had the gift of gab and used it frequently, but it meant a lot to her regular customers that she always remembered them and took care of them. While never blessed with children of her own, Elizabeth reveled in being the "fun aunt" to her nieces and nephews over the years. The best aunts are always down for fun and mischief, and she had those in spades! Words cannot express the hole that has been left in the hearts of all those who knew and loved her, but she will be missed beyond measure by all of them.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, Osborn Lee & Jo Mavis Dean Jacobs. She is survived by her sisters, Marcia (Larry) Shirley and Betty (Daniel) Stewart, and numerous loving nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews.
