Ella Mae Frazier

Mrs. Ella Mae Frazier, 93, a resident of Montgomery, Alabama, passed away peacefully at her residence on January 16, 2024. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Cool Spring Primitive Baptist Church with Chaplain Matt McCord officiating. She will then be laid to rest beside her husband in the church cemetery there with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday for one hour prior to the service.

Ella Mae was born December 9, 1930, in Highland Home, AL to Amos and Daisy Bennett and was a proud graduate of Crenshaw County High School (now Highland Home High School). She and her husband, Otis, lived and raised their children in Montgomery. Ella Mae, known to many by the name "Granny," embraced life with an unwavering love for those around her. Her selflessness knew no bounds; anyone who entered her home was enveloped in the care and love she offered, treating them as if they were her own. She carried that same delicate care with her outside to her garden where she enjoyed spending the day planting vegetables for her table, specifically cucumbers and tomatoes for the many children running around her kitchen. She loved to spend time outside in her yard and took great pride in its presentation. There would be many times, as she got older, when her family would catch her trimming hedges and cutting grass, despite their assurance that they would do it for her. A passionate viewer of Auburn football, she shared playful banter with her great grandchildren, even if they wore the rival colors of Alabama. Her heart resonated with the soulful melodies of bluegrass and country music, echoing the joy she found in simple pleasures. The kitchen was her stage, where she orchestrated meals that not only satisfied your hunger but also nourished your soul if you were blessed enough to ever share her table. Her legacy is one of love, generosity, and a profound impact on the lives she touched. She will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts she so genuinely touched.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Jimmy Frazier; her parents, Amos and Daisy Bennett; sisters, Mattie Cowles and Ranell Hillman; and brothers, Cecil Bennett and A. E. "Dee" Bennett.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna F. Williams; son, Gary H. (Angie) Frazier; five grandchildren, Jason and Brett Garrard, Adrian Duckett, Holly (Eric) Culpepper, and Gary (Meredith) Frazier Jr; thirteen great-grandchildren, Demi, Wyatt, Jon, Annsley, Brayden, Brennan, Destiny, James, Bryant, London, Liam, Henry, and Adler; sister, Mary (Obie) Benton; sisters-in-law, Exa Frazier and Eileen Bennett; and many beloved nieces, nephews, & extended family members.

Active pallbearers will be Jason Garrard, Brett Garrard, Wyatt Garrard, Jon Garrard, Gary Frazier Jr, James Duckett, Bryant Duckett, and Eric Culpepper.
