Ellree Taylor Kilcrease

December 14, 1926 — August 27, 2022

Brantley

Mrs. Ellree Taylor Kilcrease, 95, a lifelong resident of Brantley, Alabama, passed away peacefully at Crenshaw Community Hospital on Saturday, August 27th, 2022. Funeral services for Mrs. Kilcrease will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, August 30th, from the Chapel of Turners Funeral Home with Rev. Dwayne Seay officiating. Following the service, she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband in Brantley Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday for one hour prior to the service.

Mrs. Kilcrease was always the foundation of her family, a comforting presence for multiple generations of her family. She was always available to them for a wise word or a homemade meal. She was a beautiful person, both inside and out and truly embraced the teachings of Jesus Christ. She lived her life as selflessly as possible, always the first to put others ahead of herself. Mrs. Kilcrease was the kind of woman who served as a role model for so many as she walked through life with love and grace in her heart. Though she spent many years toiling away at Brantley Alatex, she was happiest taking care of her family and her precious home. Mrs. Kilcrease thoroughly enjoyed tasks others too often find mundane, such as cooking homemade meals for her family and keeping her home in pristine condition.

Mrs. Kilcrease was a faithful member of Weed Baptist Church and cherished her church family there. Above all, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She had no doubt that her family was her most valuable treasure on this mortal plane, and they could always feel her love with them wherever they went. They were blessed to have for so many years and, though they will miss her terribly, they will find comfort in knowing she has gone on to her heavenly reward in the arms of her Lord and Savior.

Mrs. Kilcrease was preceded in death by her husband, Harper Kilcrease; parents, James Edward & Ada Norris Taylor; and siblings, Foreman Taylor, Coston Taylor, Margaret Baker, and Wilma Fowler. She is survived by her loving children, Jerry H. (Sharon) Kilcrease, Taylor (Nina Jo) Kilcrease, and Peggy Kilcrease; grandchildren, Chad (Lisa) Kilcrease, Kelly (Terry) Kilcrease, Ashley (Wendy) Kilcrease, and Andrew (Haley) Kilcrease; great-grandchildren, Russ (Madelyn) Kilcrease, Reed (Macie) Kilcrease, Annslee (Adam) Jeffcoat, Clint (Beth) Kilcrease, Clark (Ashlynn) Kilcrease, Cade (Anna Leigh) Kilcrease, Jake Kilcrease, Luke Kilcrease, Marley Kate Kilcrease, Tucker Kilcrease, and Jon Harper Kilcrease; great-great-grandchildren, Kooper, Ollie Grace, Dax, Tripp, Grayson, and Mallie Claire Kilcrease; siblings, Willie (June) Taylor and Mickey (Joy) Taylor; sister-in-law, Betty Taylor; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Active pallbearers will be Russ Kilcrease, Reed Kilcrease, Clint Kilcrease, Clark Kilcrease, Cade Kilcrease, Jake Kilcrease, Luke Kilcrease, Tucker Kilcrease, and Jon Harper Kilcrease.

The family would like to extend their tremendous gratitude to Dr. Charles Tompkins and his staff, her special friend Anita Crowe, and the staffs of SouthernCare Hospice and Crenshaw Community Hospital for their tender, loving care of Mrs. Kilcrease.
