Estelle Penn King

KING, Mrs. Estelle Penn, 97, a resident of Patsburg died Friday March 9, 2012. Funeral services will be 3 pm Monday March 12, 2012 from Patsburg Baptist Church with Rev. Malcolm Butts officiating. Interment will follow in Live Oak Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mrs. King was born February 1, 1915 in Patsburg, AL and was the daughter of Epsie Ann and Wiley Moore Penn. She was a loving wife, mother and homemaker. She was a member of the Patsburg Baptist Church and served many people as a nurse at Crenshaw County Hospital and Baptist Hospital in Montgomery. Mrs. King is preceded in death by her husband, Ulys King; her parents; a sister, Flora Bell Brown; and three brothers, Horace, Luke and Kermit Penn. Survivors include four children, Wiley (Edith) King, Eloise King Savey, Mary Ann Mayfield, and Jerry (Shirley) King; five grandchildren, Philip (Janet) King, Loletta King Jordan, Patti (Rich) Miller, Shirley (Johnny) Jones, and Michael Mayfield; eleven great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers will be Benny King, Richard Brown, Harry Penn, Lawrence Penn, Michael Mayfield and Philip King. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 5 pm until 7 pm.
