LEE, Mrs. Evie Lee Byrd (91) a resident of Mobile died on Friday , December 28, 2012 after a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be 2 pm Monday December 31, 2012 at the chapel of Turner Funeral Home with Jason Lee and Jeffrey Lee officiating and Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mrs. Lee was preceded in death by her son ,Douglas L. Lee; husband, Robert B. Lee; son-in-law, Hank Cunningham; parents, Henderson and Ada Byrd; brothers, Marvin, Clayton, Dempsey and Edsel Byrd; and sister, Annie Mae Grant. Survivors include her son, Kenneth (Sybil) Lee; daughters, Barbara Cunningham and Elizabeth McLaney; grandchildren, Michael (Carrie) McLaney, Robert Sandavol, Jason (Kimberly) Lee, Jeffrey Lee, Henry Cunningham, IV, Jennifer (David) Leckner, and Douglas L. Lee, Jr.; great grandchildren, Brook and Eric Sandavol; Regan and Jackson McLaney; McKayla, Hayden, Graham, Jackson and McKenzie Lee; and three nieces, Judy Singley, Rita Gurley and Karen Holdaway. Mrs. Lee was a Luverne native and resident of Mobile since 1945. She owned and operated Ann’s Beauty Nook from 1972 until 1995. She was a long time member of Zion Baptist Church and a charter and present member of West Mobile Baptist Church. There will be no visitation for the public. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to West Mobile Baptist Church, 7501 Airport Boulevard, Mobile, AL 36608.
