THOMAS, Mrs. Fannie Cato, 95, a resident of Highland Home, Alabama, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 11AM on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at the Salem Church of Christ with Minister Charles Sipper officiating. Interment will follow in Salem Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her husband, Eldred Thomas; granddaughter, Heather Thomas; grandson, Larry Posey; parents, Lucas and Mattie Cato; sons-in-law, Sidney Posey & Woodrow Leslie; three sisters and three brothers. She is survived by her two children, Mattie Posey-Leslie and John William (JoAnn) Thomas; two grandchildren, Vicky (Eric) Register and Alison (Chris) Kirby; six great-grandchildren, Laken (Ryan) Jones, Hayden Kirby, Grayson Kirby, Brandon Register, Nick (Nancy) Posey, and Tonya (Cedric) McKenzie; and three great great-grandchildren, Rylyn Jones, Mattie Register, and Andy Grace Harris. Active pallbearers will be Roger Beckham, Winston Farrior, Nick Posey, Danny Register, James Thomas, and Lamar Thomas. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations be made to the Salem Church of Christ Cemetery Fund. They will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 10am until service time.
