Flonell Norris Carnes was born on March 23, 1936, in Luverne, Alabama, and passed away peacefully at home with her children by her side on April 9, 2026. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Z. F. and Winnie Lester Norris; siblings, Frances (Buford) Miles, Frederick (Onvie) Norris, Fraser (Willie Bell) Norris, Forest (Ann) Norris, Frank Norris, and Fulton Norris.
She is survived by her children, Jeffery H. Carnes of Montgomery, and Jeanie Carnes Colquitt; granddaughter, Katie (Jonas) Morgan, great grandson, Micah J. Morgan; all of Brantley, sister-in-law, Vivian Thomas Norris of Luverne, and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Her career spanned 43 years with Oxford Industries. Following her retirement, she was appointed and served for 14 years on the Crenshaw County Board of Registrars. She was a longstanding member of Patsburg Baptist Church. A devoted and loving mother and "Mimi," she will be profoundly missed and fondly remembered for her gentle spirit and unwavering love.
The family extends its deepest gratitude to Dr. Charles Tompkins and staff, as well as to Elizabeth, Carolyn, Lindsay, Norma, John, Sandra, Craig, Kim, and Crenshaw Community Hospital for their compassionate care and support. Sincere appreciation is also extended to the Enhabit Hospice Team for its support and steadfast presence during our mother's final chapter.
