Florence Evelyn Owens

OWENS, Mrs. Florence Evelyn, 86, a resident of Rutledge, AL, died Thursday, June 12, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, June 15, 2014 from Turner Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Neal Kelley officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Home Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mrs. Owens was preceded in death by her husband Eley Owens; her parents, Vaughn and Bernadine Johns Swartz; her granddaughter, Sirena Pate; two great grandchildren, Jessica Lott and Justin Easterwood; six brothers, Harrison Swartz, Gabby Swartz, Cloyd Swartz, Boyd Swartz, Jim Swartz, and Cliff Swartz; and three sisters, Pat Smith, Wilda Grimes, and Clara Tharpe. She is survived by five children, Richard (Sandra) Lawrence, Linda (Al) Vittorino, Ida (Robert) Burgans, Jim (Becky) Lawrence, and Kitty (Buster) Jordan; eleven grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; ten great-great grandchildren; her two sisters, Mabel Grimes and Marilyn Harris; and two brothers, Kenny (Fran) Swartz and Robert (Linda) Swartz. Active pallbearers will be Richard Pate, Herman Caplinger, Robby Burgans, Brandon Jordan, Justin Caplinger, and Allen Caplinger. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday afternoon from 12:30 pm until service time.
