Paul Bozeman, 77, a resident of Goshen, Alabama, passed away at UAB Medical Center on Wednesday, August 19th, 2026. Funeral services for Paul will be held at 2 PM on Friday, August 21st, from the Chapel of Turners Funeral Home with Rev. Travis Meeks officiating. A private interment service will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery with Rev. David Zorn offering a prayer and Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 12:30 to 2 PM.
Paul proudly served his country with the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict where he was one of many soldiers who faced later critical health problems due to exposure to Agent Orange. Later, he became a crane operator on a bridge-building crew and worked some as a truck driver. However, his true love was always in the land as a farmer. He knew the value there was in the hard work as he put his blood, sweat, and tears into the land he lived on and worked for so many years. He taught that same love and respect for the land to his children and grandchildren over the years, even if they never followed in his footsteps. And his selfless generosity with the world at large was always a role model to his family, especially because he taught them to never do so for the recognition. In his little free time, he loved finding a nice fishing hole to spend an afternoon but his favorite place to be was always in the presence of the family he loved with all his heart, soul, and mind.
Now, calling Paul one of a kind just doesn't even do him justice. He was a remarkable free spirit who loved to talk with anyone and everyone because you know he made friends wherever he went. He was most certainly outspoken and strong-willed, and you had the benefit of never needing to worry about where you stood with him....I guarantee he was gonna tell you. But, Paul was also the king of sarcasm with this dry, witty sense of humor that included more than his fair share of chaos gremlin. You definitely never had to be concerned you'd be bored in his company, just be prepared for him to make you laugh at the most inappropriate time, simply because he could. He also delighted in every moment he spent with little children, but there was no one he loved more than his own. Paul was the man who would go to the ends of the earth for the people he cherished more than all the gold in Fort Knox. Above all, he was a treasured husband, father, and Granddaddy who was the rock his entire family leaned on, and he will be missed more than words could even express.
Paul was preceded in death by his beloved son, Daniel Paul Bozeman, and parents, Ronald and Lucy Bradley Bozeman. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Mary Helms Bozeman; children, Dana Bozeman and Heath (Hannah) Bozeman; grandchildren, Hannah Sutton, Sam Bozeman, and David Bozeman; siblings, Fletcher (Elaine) Bozeman and Ramona (Bill) Holmes; best friend, Charles Hall; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Active pallbearers will be Chris West, Ronnie Bozeman, Michael Sanders, Sam Bozeman, Bart Snyder, and Jim Shaver. Honorary pallbearers will be Shaun Richburg, Joshua Hinton, and Chris Holmes.
The family asks for prayers for cherished granddaughter, Hannah, who was unable to come due to being out of the country.
