Frances Kathlyn Smith

Frances K. Smith, 87, a resident of Highland Home, Alabama, passed away peacefully at Luverne Health & Rehabilitation on Saturday, May 2nd, 2026. The family will hold a celebration of Frances's life at a later time.

Frances proudly served her country with the United States Air Force from 1958 to 1964.

Frances was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Gail W. Smith; parents, Asa & Velma Wilson Jackson; and siblings, Greta Jordan and Letha Arnold. She is survived by her children, Patty (Joe) Defee, Shelly (Mike) Dunn, Paul Smith, and Kenneth (Shelby) Smith; grandchildren, Amanda (Aaron) Williamson, Candice (Drew) Dearman, John (Tessa) Dunn, Taylor (Brandon) Swan, Chase (Becca) Smith, and Nick (Cassandra) Smith; ten great-grandchildren; siblings, Ted Jackson, Kenneth Jackson, and Jean Jordan; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
