Fred Alton Jeffcoat Jr.

JEFFCOAT, Mr. Fred Alton, Jr., 65, a resident of Rutledge, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2018. Funeral services for Mr. Jeffcoat will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, January 20, from the Chapel of Turners Funeral Home with Brother Dennis Sanders officiating. Interment will follow in Black Rock Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mr. Jeffcoat was preceded in death by his father, Fred Alton Jeffcoat Sr. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sherry Kent Jeffcoat, two daughters, Frieda (Jeff) Wilson and Angie (Daryl) Pouncey, four grandchildren, Zack (Kelsey) Wilson, Tanner Pouncey, Bailey Wilson, and Tucker Pouncey, a soon-to-arrive great-grandchild, Taytom Wilson, his mother, Mattie Lula Tompkins Jeffcoat, three sisters, Linda (Robert) Monk, Jo (Byron) Hodge, and Evone (Craig) Kilpatrick, brother, Wesley (Patsy) Jeffcoat, two sisters-in-law, Sharon (Randy) Beasley and Sheila (Jerry) Mills, three brothers-in-law, Larry (Kim) Kent, Donnie Kent, and Ronnie (Joan) Kent, and a host of loving nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers will be Tanner Pouncey, Jeff Wilson, Daryl Pouncey, Joshua Hodge, Ben Kilpatrick, and Brad Jeffcoat. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:30 – 11 AM.
