George Houston Compton

COMPTON, Mr. George Houston, 83, a resident of Brantley, Alabama, passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2017. Funeral services for Mr. Compton will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, October 10, from the Chapel of Turners Funeral Home with Minister Jeff Grimes officiating. Interment will follow in Providence Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mr. Compton was preceded in death by his wife, Inez Beasley Compton, son-in-law, Randell Ganous, two sisters, Audrey Emma Eiland and Neva Nell Rhodes, and two brothers, Zollie Compton and Robert Compton. He is survived by his two children, Ricky (Virginia) Compton and Pam Ganous, three grandchildren, Terry (Felicia) Ganous, Alan (Lauren) Compton, and Amber (Jeff) Holley, ten great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, two sisters, Sarah Russell and Helen Moulton, and two brothers, Luther Compton and Billy (Jeanette) Compton. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1 – 2pm.
