MCLEOD, Mr. George L. “GL”, Jr., 73, a resident of Luverne died suddenly Monday, December 29, 2014. Funeral services will be 2 pm Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at the Chapel of Turner Funeral Home with Rev. Mitchell Bowlan and Rev. Steve DeFee officiating. Interment will follow in Emmaus Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mr. McLeod is preceded in death by his wife, Emma Sexton McLeod; his parents, George Lee and Zillion Gibson McLeod, Sr.; three brothers, Jasper Williams “JW” McLeod, Carl “Cobb” McLeod, and Morgan McLeod; and four sisters, Bertha Mae Childs, Kate Mathews, Eloise Beasley, and Mary Peacock. Survivors include four children, Glen (Hope) McLeod, Debbie McLeod, Ricky McLeod, and Martha (Mitchell) Bowlan; six grandchildren, Brandy McLeod (Justin) Bayman, Cody McLeod (Jay) Carnley, Linsley Bowlan, Alex McLeod, Arin McLeod, and Brett Bowlan; two great grandchildren, Jax Bayman and Arianna Catrett; and four sisters, Betty Jean Davenport, Gwen Martin, Gail Messick, and Jennie Ruth Davis. Active pallbearers will be Brett Bowlan, Alex McLeod, Justin Bayman, Jay Carnley, Charles Hall, and Doug Senn. The family will receive friends at the funeral home of Wednesday from 12:30pm until service time.
