Mr. George Louis Teague, 88, a resident of Luverne, Alabama, passed away peacefully in his home while surrounded by his family on Thursday, September 1st, 2022. A graveside service for Mr. Teague will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, September 3rd, with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:30 - 10:30 AM.
Mr. Teague was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who loved nothing more than spending quality time with his family and friends. He was the epitome of a hard-working farmer who thoroughly enjoyed the years he spent raising various livestock. He also had an excellent green thumb, growing tomato plants that could dwarf even him. In the scant amount of free time any farmer has, he still enjoyed spending that time outside tinkering with anything he could get his hands on and believed he could make better. Despite hardships, Mr. Teague was blessed with a long, happy life and leaves behind his family as a legacy of the kind of man he was. He will be sorely missed by all those who knew and loved him, but they will find comfort in the lifetime of memories they made together.
Mr. Teague was preceded in death by his grandson, Steven Teague; son-in-law, Leon "Bo" Dobbs; parents, Louie Lee & Minnie Lee Rayborn Teague; and siblings, Frank Teague, Boyett Teague, Annie Laura Owen, Wilma Baggett, and Lois Sipper. He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Judy Holland Teague; their children, Wayne (Shelia) Teague, Karen Janese Dobbs, Sandra (Mark) Cook, Sam (Kamelia) Bowlan, Mitchell (Martha) Bowlan, and James (Jessica) Bowlan; grandchildren, Leon Dobbs, Gary Dobbs, Linsley Dale, Brett Bowlan, Miranda Rayburn, Brittany Mount, Brooke Bowlan, Hannah Bowlan, Haley Bowlan, Presley Bowlan, and Jackson Bowlan; several great-grandchildren; siblings, Ed Teague, Cleo Kelley, and Robert "Buddy" Teague; and a host of nieces & nephews.
Active pallbearers will be Scott Johnson, Buddy Jeffcoat, Skeeter Kelley, Sam Bowlan, James Bowlan, and Mitchell Bowlan.
