Gerald D. Hataway

Mr. Gerald D. Hataway, 72, a resident of Goshen, Alabama, passed away on January 19, 2019. A memorial service for Mr. Hataway will be held at 2 PM on Monday, January 21, at Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Jones and Rev. Dewey Enfinger officiating. Mr. Hataway proudly served with the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be sorely missed by all those who knew and loved him. Mr. Hataway was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Kayla Hataway; his parents, Junior and Eunice Hataway; and sister, Joyce Peters. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Doris Thomas Hataway; two children, David (Lisa) Hataway and Melissa (Joseph) Hurley; five grandchildren, Shelby (Brittney) Hurt, Danna (Chad) Anderson, Alaya Weeks, Kayleigh Thorton, and Abbiegail Hurley; three great-grandchildren, Riley Anderson, Rose Anderson, and Roman Anderson; seven siblings, Patricia (Randolph) Hudson, Linda Strickland, Jimmy Hataway, Tommy (Marion) Hataway, Rickey Hataway, Ronnie (Tammie) Hataway, and Mark (Angie) Hataway; and numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends will meet at the church at service time.
