Ginny Charlotte Wilson

WILSON, Dr. Ginny C., age 63, a resident of Highland Home, Alabama, passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 2PM on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 from the Chapel of Turner Funeral Home with John Dickinson and Danny Rolling officiating. Interment will follow in Sardis Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Dr. Wilson was a graduate of Highland Home High School, Troy University, and Auburn University Montgomery. She received her Ph.D. in Counseling from Walden University, and was employed for many years as a teacher and guidance counselor with the Crenshaw County Board of Education, as well as being a published poet. Dr. Wilson was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie M. and Florelle Buck Wilson. She is survived by her brother, Dwight Wilson. Active pallbearers will be Donald White, Ricky McElwain, Dale Duett, Gerred White, Malcolm Moore, Danny Kelley,and Francis Hoffman. Honorary pallbearers will be Carl Massey, James Tidwell, Johnnie Yarbrough, Charles Richardson, and the Highland Home High School Class of 1969. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 6-8pm.
