Glen Daniel Mcleod

February 23, 1961 — July 13, 2021

Luverne

Mr. Glen Daniel McLeod, 60, a resident of Luverne, Alabama, passed away peacefully at Luverne Health & Rehabilitation on Tuesday, July 13, 2021. Funeral services for Mr. McLeod will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, July 15th, from the Chapel of Turners Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Defee officiating. Interment will follow in Luverne Emmaus Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing.

Mr. McLeod was a consummate joker. He loved to make people laugh and always had a tall tale to share with whoever was willing to listen. He was also very competitive, a trait that did not always mix well with his love of cards and dominos. He was definitely a jack of all trades who was very good at building almost anything. He enjoyed his years on the road as a truck driver and working as a heavy equipment operator. In his free time, he loved to go fishing and turkey hunting. He also loved southern rock and coaching his daughters’ ball teams. On Saturdays in the Fall, he could always be found cheering on his beloved Crimson Tide Football Team to victory. Above all, he was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather who loved to spend time with his family more than anything else in the world. He has left them all too soon, but they are comforted that his suffering has been eased and he is now at peace.

Mr. McLeod was preceded in death by his parents, George Lee & Emma Sexton McLeod; sister, Debbie McLeod; and grandparents, RJ & Opal Sexton and George & Zillon McLeod. He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Hope Jordan McLeod; their two daughters, Brandy (Bo) Mount and Cody (Jay) Carnley; three grandchildren, Carlyn Mount, Jax Bayman, and Robert Kendrick Mount; two siblings, Rickey McLeod and Martha (Mitchell) Bowlan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Active pallbearers will be Rickey McLeod, Jay Carnley, Bo Mount, Jax Bayman, Jesse Grayson, Mitchell Bowlan, and Brett Bowlan.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 1 - 2 PM.
