Mrs. Grace Florence Pouncey Dunn, 91, a lifetime resident of Lapine, Alabama, passed away peacefully at home with her family on Saturday, April 17, 2021.
Mrs. Dunn was an accomplished guitar player. In her youth, her husband began taking her to local radio stations to perform, which led to her meeting and spending time with the legendary Hank Williams Sr. Nothing moved her heart and soul quite like music, and it remained a lifetime passion. In later years, she went to become a seamstress, working in local factories until her retirement. Through sewing, she was able to express another creative side of her life. Above all, she was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Nothing was more important than her family, and they were fortunate to enjoy so many years with her.
Mrs. Dunn was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Dunn; parents, Claudie & Ursa Mae Sexton Pouncey; and three siblings, Doris Pouncey, Edison Pouncey, and Nell Petty. She is survived by her two daughters, Vivian (Ben) Abbott and Paula Monk; three stepchildren, Casey Dunn, Bobbie Dunn, and David Dunn; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, & nephews; five siblings, Mildred Dunn, Anderson Pouncey, Jeanette Nichols, Mary Lowe, and Martha Gibbons; and countless other loved ones.
The family will hold a memorial service at a later time.
