Greta Fay Jordan

Greta Fay Jordan, 88, passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2024. A graveside service for Greta will be held at 12 PM on Saturday, January 13th, in the Helicon Cemetery in Grady, Alabama with her nephew, Mike Dunn, delivering the eulogy and Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Family and friends will meet in the cemetery at service time.

Greta lived in Walker County until 1947 when her parents, Asa & Velma Jackson, relocated their family and settled in Highland Home. She graduated from Crenshaw County High School (now Highland Home High School) and married within the year. She and her husband, John Jordan, lived and raised their children in Bradleyton. After John's death in 1980, Greta began a 20-year career with ALFA Insurance working in the Luverne office and later several Montgomery offices.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Jordan; her grandson, Zachary Cosby; sons-in-law, Wayne Cosby and Jeffrey Vinzant; and parents, Asa Irvin & Velma Wilson Jackson. She is survived by her children, Richard (Judy) Jordan, Ann Cosby Vinzant, and Barbara (Donald) Flack; four grandchildren, Kerry (Stephen) Wilson, Jonathan (Lindsay) Jordan, Sara (Josh) Corbin, and Jessie (Jesse) Patrick; seven great-grandchildren, Blake & Blain Wilson, Brody Jordan, Brendan, Ava, & Ben Corbin, and Caroline Patrick; siblings, Ted Jackson, Jean Jordan, Letha Arnold, Frances Smith, and Kenneth (Grace) Jackson; and a host of nieces & nephews.

Active pallbearers will be Delana Fine, Blake Wilson, Blain Wilson, Jonathan Jordan, Brody Jordan, and Brendan Corbin.

The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Highland Home Volunteer Fire Department at PO Box 99 Highland Home Al 36041, the Children's Center Adult Program at P.O. Box 3098, Montgomery, AL 36109, or one's favorite charity.
