Gwendolyn Inez Pouncey Henderson

Mrs. Gwendolyn Inez Pouncey Henderson, 86, a resident of Greenville, Alabama, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, November 11, 2020. A memorial service will be held for Mrs. Henderson at 12 PM on Sunday, November 22nd, at Walnut Street Church of Christ with Brother Charles Box officiating.

Mrs. Henderson worked as a switchboard operator for a telephone company during the time when everything was done manually by the operators themselves. She was a dedicated, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who always put her family first above all else. She exemplified what a godly, Christian woman was meant to be in this world to both her family and those around her with family at Walnut Street Church of Christ. She will be sorely missed, but they are grateful for every precious moment they had with her.

Mrs. Henderson was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Marvin Henderson; granddaughter, April R. Beverly; parents, Charlie & Ella Crowell Pouncey; and brother, Thomas C. Pouncey. She is survived by her two loving daughters, Renay H. Sexton and Yona Henderson; two grandchildren, Blake Reaves and Randi (Frank) Hebert; three great-grandchildren, Charlie Hall, Brandon Hall, and Abigail Hebert; three siblings, Lou Ella King, Tula Reeves, and George A. Pouncey; and a host of nieces, nephews, and beloved friends.
