Harvey Anderson Sexton

Harvey Anderson Sexton, 79, a resident of Deatsville, Alabama and formerly of Highland Home, passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, July 31st, 2026, while surrounded by his family. Funeral services for Harvey will be held at 2 PM on Monday, August 3rd, at Salem Church of Christ with Brother Mike Tidwell officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery there with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday for one hour prior to the service.

Harvey was a proud graduate of Highland Home School where he lettered in varsity football. After graduation, he served his country with the United States Air Force, including a tour of duty in Thailand during the Vietnam Conflict. He went on to happily drive freight for ATC Transportation for 42 years. He also married the love of his life, Judy Franklin, and they went on to build a wonderful and happy life together. In his free time, Harvey was an avid bass fisherman there at their home on Lake Jordan. On Saturdays in the fall, you could bet he was going to be cheering on the Alabama Crimson Tide on the gridiron. He was also a devoted servant of God and faithful member of the Church of Christ for many, many years. Above all, he was a beloved husband and father who was the very soul of generosity with nothing but kindness for his fellow man. He loved with his whole heart and that ensured he never met a stranger. All those who knew and loved Harvey will miss his remarkable dry wit that could get a laugh out of anyone, but comfort will be found knowing he has now received his eternal reward.

Harvey was preceded in death by his cherished daughter, Sherry Sexton; parents, Marvin & Thelma Carlisle Sexton; and siblings, Andrew Sexton, James Sexton, Robert Lee Sexton, Mary Helen Lester, and Joseph Sexton. He is survived by his beloved wife of almost 60 years, Judy Franklin Sexton; their daughter, Susanne Sexton; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Active pallbearers are Kyle Martin, Beau Franklin, Wesley Tucker, Grant Parvis, Mike Luloff, and David Faust.
