Hazel Lucile Spears

SPEARS, Mrs. Hazel Marsh, 89, a resident of Brantley died Sunday March 30, 2014. Funeral services will be 11 am Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at the Pleasant Home Baptist Church with Rev. Bernie Enzor and Rev. James Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mrs. Spears was a long time member of Pleasant Home Baptist Church and of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lester O. Spears; great great granddaughter, Emily Grace Schrad; her parents, Joe and Sylvia Craig Marsh; and her brother, Lee Marsh. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Geraldine and Hiram Brewer; three grandchildren, Tracy (Randy) Smith, Jennifer (James) Jernigan, and Hiram O. (Stephanie) Brewer; five great grandchildren, Kayla (Levi) Cleland, Carrie Brewer (Jeff Sasser), Kimberly Crawson (Terry Simmons), Leslie Crawson, and Joshua Brewer; seven great great grandchildren; sister, Frankie Johnson; and a number of nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers will be James Jernigan, Josh Brewer, Raymond Spears, Jeff Spivey, Mack Williams, and Randy Smith. The family will receive friends at the church Wednesday from 10am until service time.
