Hazel Carpenter Veit

VEIT, Mrs. Hazel Carpenter, 82, a resident of Brantley, AL, passed away on Friday, May 16, 2014. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 19, 2014 at 10 AM in the chapel of Turner Funeral Home with Rev. Travis Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Luverne Emmaus Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mrs. Veit was preceded in death by her husband, Theo Carpenter; parents, Warren and Glennie Alford; six sisters, Gertrude Martin, Ethel Villa, Mamie Dorman, Willie Alford, Bobbie Alford, and Jimmie Stephens; & four brothers, Buster Alford, Claude Alford, Woodrow Alford, and Al Alford. She is survived by her husband of 22 years, William Veit, Sr.; son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Theresa Carpenter; and two grandchildren, Sean Carpenter and Melissa (Josh) Fraum. Active pallbearers will be Ricky Head, Billy Thompson, Billy Thompson, Jr., Bill Veit, Jr., Comer Carpenter, and Jackie Smith. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Monday from 9am until service time.
