Helen Hutto Kent

November 24, 1947 — August 30, 2025

Honoraville

Helen Hutto Kent, 77, a resident of Honoraville, Alabama, passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, August 30th, 2025. A graveside service for Helen will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, September 4th, in Rock Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Brother Clay Crum officiating and Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. The family will receive friends at Rock Hill Baptist Church (the old Midway church) from 9:30 to 10:30 on Thursday.

Better known to her family as Mom, Nana, and Aunt Helen, she was a woman whose life was built on faith, family, and friendship. She loved her family and friends deeply, but her greatest love was for Jesus.

She spent many years teaching in different roles at her church and found joy in spending time with those she loved most. She was a hardworking and devoted wife, a caring mother, and an even better grandmother. To her friends and neighbors, she was loyal and kind, always ready to lend a hand or share a word of encouragement.

Her legacy is one of faith and love. She wanted her family and everyone she met not only to know about Jesus, but to truly know Him. That message, and the life she lived, will continue to guide those she leaves behind.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Ronald & Ruth Day Hutto; siblings, Shelba Sapp and Odalene Golden; and mother-in-law, June Kent. She is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years, Lamar Kent; daughter & son-in-law, Sonja & Charles Parsons; grandchildren, Caleb (Bailea) Parsons, Cassidy Parsons, and Caylee Parsons; great-grandchildren, Hamilton Jackson, Rinley Parsons, Noah Parsons, and one more on the way; brother, Ronald Hutto; brothers-in-law, Bill Sapp, Dempsey Golden, and Floyd (Brenda) Kent; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
