Herbert Franklin Smith

SMITH, Herbert Franklin, 79, a resident of Brantley, AL died at his home Monday, February 14, 2011. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at 2 PM from Turner Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. William Leverette officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Brantley, AL with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mr. Smith is preceded in death by his parents, George Cleveland and Mary Mason Smith; a grandson, Derrick Smith; two brothers, Hollis and Hillman Smith; and five sisters, Gladys Schultz, Sallie Bell Mitchell, Lena Rayborn, Mittie Kolb Best, and Minnie Broadway. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sally Smith; one daughter, Sue (John) Ivey; two sons, Terry (Ruth) Smith and Tony Smith; four grandchildren, Adam (Karen) Smith, Katie Smith, Lance Ivey, and Leigh Anna Ivey; two great grandchildren, Jordan and Jayden Smith; and one sister, Edwina Harrelson. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6 – 8 pm. Active pallbearers will be Adam Smith, Wayne Harrelson, Phil Norsworthy, Bob Norsworthy, Lance Ivey and Michael Stephenson.
