Horace Lamar Burgans

BURGANS, Mr. Horace Lamar, 74, a resident of Highland Home died Thursday, April 23, 2015. Funeral services will be 2 pm Sunday, April 26, 2015 at Pleasant Home Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mr. Burgans was preceded in death by his son, Charles Glen Burgans; his parents, Andrew and Betty Burgans; and five brothers, Harvey Burgans and four infants. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Doris and Short Reeves; four nieces, Melissa Reeves, Cathy Smith, Sherry Olive and Patricia Lanham; and four nephews, Lamar Burgans, Lester Burgans, Ricky Burgans, and Willie Lee Burgans. Active pallbearers will be Lamar Burgans, Ricky Burgans, Tim Kelley, John Lee Jinright, Jeremy Orum, Terry Tetter, Jason Browder, and Jay Kyzar. George Browder and employees of H.E. Browder Veneer Company will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 6 pm until 8 pm. The body will lie-in-state at the church on Sunday from 1:30pm until service time.
