Ida Grace Frazier Harris, 79, a resident of Honoraville, Alabama, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 22nd, 2023 at Wetumpka Health & Rehabilitation. A graveside service for Grace will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, December 26th, in Cool Springs Cemetery with Rev. John Carney officiating and Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12:30 to 1:20 PM.
Grace was one of the strongest and most strong-willed people in this world. She faced so many slings and arrows that life threw into her path, yet continued on with amazing fortitude and grace. She spent 50 years working as a sewing machine operator in a textile factory, but she thrived best in her own home. She not only kept her home working well, but took immense pride and found her peace in her gardens. She grew a bountiful amount of vegetables that she could can for later use and loved sharing it with her family and friends. Grace also grew some of the most beautiful flowers you could find anywhere, because she knew how much value there was in making this world even more beautiful during trying times. Her family didn't share her love of eclectic dishes from the kitchen, but they swear no one made better fried chicken, biscuits, and tomato gravy! Unlike many, Grace fully embraced being a Christmas baby, and loved celebrating both on the same day....as long as she got her birthday cake! Her constant companion for the last decade of her life was her beloved cat, Kitty, who never failed to shower her with love and affection. However, Grace's greatest love was for her family. They were her world and she especially loved her last role as "Granny" to her treasured grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She taught her family how to laugh through the hard times, and they will continue to treasure all the valuable lessons she taught them throughout their lives together.
Grace was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, James Edward Harris; their infant son; parents, Coady Lee & Exa Lee Hester Frazier; and siblings, Arthur Glenn Frazier, Auther Lee Frazier, Tammany Lowe, and McCayla Fuller. She is survived by her beloved children, Edward (Paula) Harris and Mary (Adam) Ryals; grandchildren, Amanda Shirley, Bobby Fuller, Zach Defee, and Keely Defee; great-grandchildren, Luke Shirley, Caden Shirley, Madison Lowe, and Brinley Lowe; sister, Ealnor Grace Daughtry; and a host of nieces, nephews, other extended family members, and friends.
Active pallbearers will be Carl Moseley, David Moseley, Austin Moseley, Terry Harris, Kevin Posey, and Ben Lowry.
