Ima Carol Wood

Ima "Omie" Carol Wood, age 87, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026. She was born on August 17, 1938. Funeral services for Omie will be held at 2 PM on Friday, March 13th, at Pleasant Home Baptist Church with Pastor Randy Sexton officiating. She will then be laid to rest beside her beloved husband in the church cemetery there under the direction of Turners Funeral Home of Luverne. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday for one hour prior to the service.

Omie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose love and presence meant the world to her family. She lived a life centered on caring for those around her and will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and the deep love she had for her family.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Cody Ray Wood; her son, Timothy Ray Wood; and her granddaughter, Megan Wood.

Omie is survived by her son, Michael Cody Wood; her granddaughters, Laurren Bachelor, Madison Wood, and Rae Grimsley; her grandsons, Cody Clifford Wood & Chadd Walton; and five great-grandchildren. Her family was the joy of her life, and her legacy will live on through them.

Active pallbearers will be Cody Clifford Wood, Josh Grimsley, Grant Jones, Jace Bachelor, Luke Jones, and Tony Wood.

Ima Carol Wood will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.
