Mrs. Irene Sampley Flowers, 66, a resident of Montgomery, Alabama and formerly of Luverne, Alabama, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, October 21, 2020. A graveside service for Mrs. Flowers will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, October 24th, in Perdue Cemetery in Greenville, Alabama with Rev. Michael Stubbs officiating and Turners Funeral Home.
Mrs. Flowers spent most of her life being a role model to others as to the value of hard work at major factories like Vanity Fair and Smart. She will most lovingly be remembered for how devoted to her family she was. She was a phenomenal mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, but, most of all, she adored her grandchildren. Once they were born, pretty much all of her free time was spent spoiling them with her loving care. She will be sorely missed by all of her family and friends she leaves behind, but they are grateful for every second they were able to spend with her.
Mrs. Flowers was preceded in death by her parents, Dave & Emma Walker Sampley; three brothers, Ronnie Sampley, Donald Sampley, and Billy Sampley; and her niece, Tabatha Sampley. She is survived by her two children, Ray Frazier and April (Marty) McCoy; three grandchildren, John Yoder III, Aiden Yoder, and Payton McCoy; four siblings, Angeline (Robert) Frazier, Callie Hartin, Lafayette (Ann) Sampley, and Jerry (Brenda) Sampley; and many nieces & nephews.
Active pallbearers will be David Sampley, Bryan Sampley, Brandon Sampley, Jerry Sampley, Joey Sampley, and Kenny Coshatt.
