Iris Messick Wilkerson

WILKERSON, Mrs. Iris Messick, age 92, a resident of Petrey Alabama, passed away on Friday, September 11, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 2PM on Sunday, September 13, 2015 from the chapel of Turner Funeral Home with Rev. Cliff Cobb and Greg Wilkes officiating. Interment will follow in Petrey Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mrs. Wilkerson was preceded in death by her husband, Perry J. Wilkerson; son, Ed Wilkerson; parents, George and Lilla Messick; and two brothers, Reynolds Messick and Alva Messick. She is survived by three daughters, Carolyn Wofford, Karen (Randy) Watts, and Sherry (Chester) Singleton; eight grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Active pallbearers will be Russ Wilkerson, David Watts, Alan Wofford, Justin Singleton, Brad Watts, and Jim Messick. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Petrey United Methodist Church or to the Petrey Cemetery Fund, both may be sent to the care of Sue Beasley, 10511 Petrey Highway, Luverne, AL 36049. They will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 1pm until service time.
