Mr. Jack Hansel Stricklin Jr, 71, a resident of Brantley, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2019. Funeral services for Mr. Stricklin will be held at 11 AM on Friday, March 8, from the Chapel of Turners Funeral Home with Brother Olan Strickland officiating. Interment will follow in Bullock Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing.
Mr. Stricklin proudly served his country with the Alabama National Guard, and he spent over 25 years bravely working as a firefighter at Ft. Rucker until he retired. He was also a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle who will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him. Mr. Stricklin was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Hansel Sr and Lucy Taylor Stricklin. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Glenda Bryan Stricklin; their daughter, Nicki Lee (Brett) Bryan; grandson, William Payne Bryan; sister, Anne Bryan; “the boys,” Shea (Carrie) Bryan, Lee Bryan, and Kyle (Kayla) Bryan; and great-nieces and great-nephew, Laken, Karley, Jack, and Lucy Bryan. Active pallbearers will be Paul Cook, Tony Pynes, Billy Goodwin, Dennis Manning, Carrie Williamson, and Anthony Pynes. Chad Williamson will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made either to the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association, or the American Diabetes Association. They will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 9:30 - 11 AM.
