MITCHELL, Mr. Jacob Lamar, 80, a resident of Montgomery, Alabama, passed away on Friday, August 24, 2018. A graveside service for Mr. Mitchell will be held at 3 PM on Sunday, August 26, in Mt. Ida Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mr. Mitchell proudly served his country in the United States Air Force Reserves. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ada Mitchell; parents, L.D. and Esther Gallops Mitchell; and sister, Carolyn Coldflesh. Mr. Mitchell is survived by his four daughters, Lisa (Robert) Walker, Leah (Michael) Hagan, Lara (Mike) Lenox, and Lori (Paul) Dekle; six grandchildren, Karmen Smith, Jarrett Smith, Mitchell Hagan, John Matthew Dekle, Paul Thomas Dekle Jr, and Rachel Katherine Dekle; sister, Barbara (Ricky) Powell; and two brothers, Larry (Judy) Mitchell and Wilburn (Jean) Mitchell. Active pallbearers will be Michael Hagan, Jarrett Smith, Mike Lenox, Casey Mitchell, Larry Mitchell, and Wilburn Mitchell. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:30 - 2:30 PM.
