James Theo "Abe" Bodiford

BODIFORD, Mr. James T. “Abe” Bodiford, 89, a resident of Highland Home, AL died Wednesday, April 28, 2010. Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Friday, April 30, 2010 at the Highland Home Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Elder Bobby Blue and Elder Carson Blue officiating. Interment will follow in Sardis Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. A U.S. Army Veteran, Mr. Bodiford served bravely during WWII in a number of battles and campaigns including North Apennines, Algeria-French Morocco, Tunisia, Naples, and Rome. He is preceded in death by his wife, Addie Mae Best Bodiford; three brothers, Collie, Teasley and Billy Bodiford; and two sisters, Era Blue and Sarah Bodiford. Mr. Bodiford is survived by two children, Terry James Bodiford and Donna Stephenson; four grandchildren; one sister, Ella Mae Kelley; one brother, Dewey “Duck” Bodiford; along with a number of loving nieces and nephews. His nephews will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the Church Friday afternoon from 2 PM until service time.
