Mr. James "Jim" C. Boothe, 72, a resident of Rutledge, Alabama, passed away peacefully at Luverne Health & Rehabilitation on Friday, May 27th, 2022. Funeral services for Mr. Boothe will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, May 31st, from the Chapel of Turners Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Defee officiating. Interment will follow in Rutledge Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10 - 11 AM.
Mr. Boothe had an open, gregarious personality which allowed him to be able to talk with everyone, especially when he wanted to share his love of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He particularly loved Gospel music, and could often be found blaring out his favorites in the mornings at home. In his younger days, he enjoyed spending time with his group of friends in motorcross and drag-racing, and he continued to regaled his family and friends with stories of their exploits throughout his life. Mr. Boothe was blessed with a true gift in understanding mechanics. There was almost nothing mechanical that he could not operate, repair, and improve. Known to his CB community as "Shade Tree," he was their go-to man whenever they needed a radio repaired. Most importantly, however, he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who always prioritized his family. Nothing proved that more than the years he spent caring for beloved wife, Joyce, during her battle with Alzheimer's Disease. He was a rock for all of his loved ones and, though he will be missed beyond measure, they will find comfort in knowing that he has finally reunited with the love his life in Heaven above.
Mr. Boothe was preceded by his wife of 45 years (1 month & 2 days), Joyce Tidwell Boothe; grandson, Hunter Allen; and parents, A.W. "Tooney" & Gladys Durden Boothe. He is survived by his daughters, Jessica Boothe and Virgnia (Kevin) Allen; grandchildren, Ella Jordan Saunders and Bo Christian Boothe; and several lifelong friends.
Active pallbearers will be John Dickey, Greg Dickey, Josh Saunders, Harley Hall, Kelton Wallace, and Justin Wallace. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Brazell, Walter Dickey, Larry Free, Danny Hall, and Ronnie Wallace.
