Mr. James Bragg Jr, 68, a resident of Lapine, Alabama, passed away at Crenshaw Community Hospital in Luverne after a courageous fight against COVID-19.
Mr. Bragg proudly served his country with the United States Air Force for 25 years until his retirement as a Tech Sergeant. After his retirement, he became a civilian contractor as a computer programmer with General Dynamics until his second retirement. He also earned a Bachelor's degree in Business from Troy State University. In his free time, he loved spending time outdoors, especially fishing. He was also quite handy with wood-working. He was also an avid football fan, cheering on the Highland Home Flying Squadron on Friday nights in the fall and his beloved Florida Gators on Saturdays. Those who knew him best, cherished his kind and generous spirit and gregarious, open nature. Above all, he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who prized his family more than anything else. They loved him back just as much and will miss him terribly, but they are comforted by the fact that he is now at peace.
Mr. Bragg was preceded in death by his parents and siblings. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Julie Addison Bragg; their sons & daughters-in-law, Jared & Karen Bragg and Justin & Brittney Bragg; and grandsons, Carter Bragg & Nolan Bragg.
The family will hold a memorial service at a later time.
