James Thomas "Tommy" Bryan, 78, a resident of Montgomery, Alabama, passed away peacefully at Baptist Medical Center East on Wednesday, February 4th, 2026. A graveside service will be held for Tommy in Danielville Cemetery with Rev. Jim Looney officiating and Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Family and friends will meet in the cemetery at the service time.
Tommy was born and raised in Montgomery, and graduated from Sidney Lanier High School. He went on to proudly serve his country with the United States Army before he began his lifelong career as a successful plumber. In his free time, he loved carefully tending to all of his beautiful flowers and plants, which he always generously shared with his family and friends. Tommy was just the kind of family member and friend you always knew you could depend on no matter what else was going on. He was a truly cherished husband, brother, and uncle who will be missed more than words could ever properly express.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow W. Sr & Dorothy Jordan; brother, Woodrow "Woody" Wilson Bryan Jr; and nephew, Woodrow W. Bryan III. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Betty Tucker Bryan; brother-in-law, James (Glenda) Tucker; sister-in-law, Linda Wissman Bryan; nephews, Christopher "Chris" Jordan & Matthew "Matt" Evan Bryan; and multiple generations of other loving nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all of the wonderful doctors, nurses, and staff at the Montgomery Cancer Center, and to their special neighbor, Donna, for all of their care and aid during Tommy's illness.
