James Buford Green

James Buford Green Jr, 79, a resident of Petrey, Alabama, passed away peacefully at Crenshaw Community Hospital on Friday, January 26th, 2024. No memorial service has been planned at this time.

James was a proud graduate of Luverne High School, Class of 1962. He held many different jobs over the years, but was always a devoted animal lover, especially to his beloved dogs, Trey-Trey and Autrey. He was always an avid bridge player who enjoyed his many years of playing in both the Luverne and Montgomery Bridge Clubs. He thoroughly enjoyed traveling with his friends in the Montgomery Bridge Club to various tournaments around the state and even out of state. He was not only an excellent bridge player, but he was also famous for entertaining everyone with his clever wit and charming demeanor.

James was preceded in death by his parents, James Buford Sr and Ruth Moody Green, and uncle, Robert "Pete" Finlay. He is survived by his cousin, Aubrey "Shorty" Green.
