James Lamar Duncan

DUNCAN, Mr. James Lamar, 72, a resident of Luverne died Tuesday August 10, 2010. Funeral services will be 2 pm Thursday August 12, 2010 from the Chapel of Turner Funeral Home with Rev. William Leverette officiating. Interment will follow in Providence Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mr. Duncan is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Ibera Langford Duncan and two brothers, William B. Duncan and Pete Duncan. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Becky Simmons Duncan; three children, Tony (Beverly) Duncan, Joey Duncan and Pam (Buddy) Strops; five grandchildren, Brian Duncan, Heather Bottoms, Jessica Odom, Amber Strops and Samantha Strops; six great grandchildren; and two sisters, Carrie (Walter) Sanders and Anna Laura (Junior) McCartha. Active pallbearers will be William Simmons, Mark Simmons, Lee Simmons, Floyd Wright, Paul Creel and Steve Sanders. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 6pm until 8pm.
