Mr. James P. Pallas, 81, a resident of Luverne, Alabama & formerly of Pensacola, Florida, passed away on December 16, 2020, after a long and painful battle with cancer. A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, December 19th, in Campground Cemetery with Rev. Dunford Cole officiating and Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing.
Mr. Pallas graduated from Pensacola High School in 1956 and would go on to retire from the N.A.R.F. at N.A.S. Pensacola, and later worked for several years at the Smart plant in Luverne. He was an avid turkey and deer hunter, and loved to fish, especially in his pond at his home in Luverne. He and his wife, Pat, along with Larry & Helen Hinnant, went on many hunting and fishing trips in Florida, Alabama, Ohio, Wyoming, and Colorado over the last 50 years. He truly loved and enjoyed life.
Mr. Pallas was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah “Pat” Pallas; his parents, Tom G. & Nellie D. Pallas; brother & sister-in-law, George & Irene Pallas; and sister-in-law, Anita Pallas. He is survived by his brother, Tom Pallas; several nieces and nephews; and the adult children of his late wife, Helen (Larry) Hinnant, Robert (Diana) England, and David England.
