SASSER, Mr. James Hillard Sr, 80, a resident of Pensacola, Florida, passed away on Thursday, April 26, 2018. A graveside service for Mr. Sasser will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, May 1, in Sasser Cemetery with Rev. Bobby Powell officiating and Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mr. Sasser proudly served with the United States Navy with the Pacific Fleet. He was preceded in death by his three children, Deborah Ann Hayes, Mitzi Lynn Hudson, and James H. “Obbie” Sasser Jr; his parents, Obe and Mary Compton Sasser; and two brothers, Dale Sasser and Collen Sasser. He is survived by his six grandchildren, Rachael Sasser, Phenix Sasser, Jimmy Sasser, Alysea Beamon, Brett Sasser, and Hunter Hudson; several great-grandchildren; his brother, Dwight (Elaine) Sasser; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Sasser Church of Christ on Tuesday from 1 - 2pm.
