James Clifton Sentell

SENTELL, Mr. James C., 80, a native of Luverne, Alabama and longtime resident of Huntsville, Alabama, passed away in Huntsville on Thursday, April 19, 2018 after a brief illness. Funeral services for Mr. Sentell will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, April 25, at Luverne United Methodist Church with Rev. Ken Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in Luverne Emmaus Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mr. Sentell was a 1956 graduate of Lanier High School and an alumnus of Auburn University. He proudly served with the United States Marine Corps, and was a retired engineer from Raytheon Missile Systems in Tucson, Arizona. Mr. Sentell was preceded in death by his parents, J.O. and Jane Elizabeth Jones Sentell and his twin sister, Jane Sentell Preiss. He is survived by his three children, James C. “Jimmy” (Elizabeth) Sentell Jr of Huntsville, John N. (Sarah) Sentell of Palmyra, Virginia, and Dr. Amy (Menno) Roeland-Sentell of Amsterdam; five grandchildren; and his brother, Edgar (Barbara) Sentell of Madison, Mississippi. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association.
