Jamie Dale Morgan

Mr. Jamie Dale Morgan, 51, a resident of Highland Home, Alabama, passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday, April 9th, 2023. A memorial service for Jamie will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, April 29th, at West Highland United Methodist Church in Selma.

Jamie was born in Salt Lake City, Utah before eventually finding his way to Alabama. He was a jack of all trades, according to his family, because there was nothing he couldn't fix or build. Over his adult life he was the epitome of a hard worker. He was trained as a welder and also worked as a roofer in construction, so he definitely understood the nature of hard labor. However, he thoroughly enjoyed his job and he was well known for his inability to NOT work! He had to constantly stay busy, and kept projects running around the house all of the time, especially if it involved wood-working. Jamie loved any activity that kept him in the great outdoors to appreciate the beauty of nature. He was an avid fisher & camper, and there were few things he enjoyed more than gathering around a bonfire in the lively company of family and friends. Jamie was also generous to a fault and didn't have a judgmental bone in his body. No matter who you were or what you had done, if you needed help and he had the ability to provide it, he was definitely going to show up for you. Above all, he was a devoted father and grandfather who loved nothing more in life than spending time with his family. They were everything to him and they loved him back just as fiercely. He has left them far too soon, but they will find comfort in the many cherished memories they made together over a lifetime.

Jamie was preceded in death by his father, George Morgan, and brother, Michael Morgan. He is survived by his children, Brittany Morgan, Shannon (Brandon) Chavers, and Brandon (Carmen) Morgan; grandchildren, Jasmine Chavers, Kaleb Smitherman, J.T. Chavers, Aiden Smitherman, Layla Smitherman, Jacob Chavers, Joshua Chavers, and Leilani Morgan; mother, Mary Martin Henderson; and a host of brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, other extended family, and friends.

The family will hold a celebration honoring Jamie's life at a later time.
