Jeanette Poole Gaines

Mrs. Jeanette Poole Gaines, 84, a resident of Brantley, Alabama, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, July 14, 2020.

Mrs. Gaines had a kind and generous personality, which could be seen in her many years of service as a Licensed Practical Nurse at the hospital in Luverne. She also loved praising her Lord & Savior in song with her church family at Brantley Assembly of God. Ultimately, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who adored her family above all else. She will be sorely missed by all of them.

Mrs. Gaines was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Donnie Hue “Hootie” Gaines; their son, Donnie Michael Gaines; son-in-law, Allen Johnson; her parents, Willie B. & Reggie Godwin Poole; and sister, Marie Merrill. She is survived by her two daughters, Mona (Chris) West and Rhonda Johnson; four grandchildren, Joshua Moore, Hunter Johnson, Amanda (Jason) Hilburn, and Amanda Strength; six great-grandchildren, Grace Johnson, Anslie Johnson, Hank Johnson, Katelynne Hilburn, Braden Hilburn, and Hayden Johnson.

A memorial service for Mrs. Gaines will be held at a later time.
